Truffles, mushrooms with the reputation of a natural aphrodisiac, is the best known Istrian speciality. But there are also excellent fish and seafood products such as north-Adriatic scampi (prawns), calamari and shellfish from the Limski kanal Fjord, excellent prosciutto, cheese and olives.
