Rabac
The thing that Rabac is most well known for, and something that is equally interesting for all ages, are the kilometres of beaches and paths that run along the entire coastline. The coast has a large number of well-tended pebble beaches, coves and small bays that are suitable for swimming. The beaches have Blue Flags, and the sea is crystal clear. The fragrant Mediterranean vegetation, especially the pine trees that grow along the paths, creates a special atmosphere for all those who love the Adriatic and Mediterranean climate.
The small fishing village of Rabac, which today is the largest tourist destination on Istria’s eastern coast, thrives in the tourist season. Each year it surprises its guests with interesting new events.
Each day you can use the pools, sports grounds, engage in a wide variety of water sports and enjoy adrenalin filled excitement. In the restaurants and inns, pizzerias and imaginative cafés you can enjoy food and drinks, and relax and listen to the waves. Your children will get their five minutes in the playrooms and facilities that just for them. If you want to have fun or even nourish your soul with some cultural and fun activities, then Rabac and its surrounding area are right for you.

EVENTS IN RABAC
Rabac is a small town that totally transforms in the summer, and together with Labin, offers its guests some top quality events that should definitely not be missed.Let’s start with music, and that of electronic music. In the last few years, the Rabac Summer Festival on Girandella beach has become not to be missed date on the European summer festival calendar. This year it has been strengthened with the United Festival, which is held a week before the Rabac Summer Festival at Dubrova in Labin.
Asides from modern music, Rabac and Labin echo with the sounds of folk legends, music, a’ cappellas and traditional instruments that you can hear at a number of events organised during the summer. We recommend Rabac’s “The taste of the sea and salt” Mediterranean Folk Festival, that offers music, sardines, local wines and parties. This is followed by the Day of the Town party, as well as Petrova in Labin, which keeps up the long tradition of trade-fair days that used to be held in these areas.
Valamar hotels also organise fun and relaxing events, such as concerts, dance performances, entertainment, themed evenings and similar.
The Ferragosto party (in August) offers guaranteed fun, as does the May Day holiday on the 1st of May on Girandella beach. There is a party in Marina campsite, which already traditionally celebrates its own day. The rich entertainment programme, children’s entertainment and evening live music only makes these events better.
The Summer Carnival in Rabac is already a tradition, where cheerful masked parades pass through the village, whilst in Labin there is the Mediterranean sculpture symposium, which every year is enriched by a wide collection of sculptures made out of Istrian stone.
Concerts, exhibitions and performances are part of normal life in Labin, and there is one event in particular that is famous as being a top cultural event outside Croatian borders. This is the Labin Art Republic whose program runs throughout the summer. Part of the program involves night tours of the old town, where you can get to learn about its rich history told through legends, stories and events.
